Agree - I get too many e-mails to add junk mail to my reading list. Already I
have received requests for "viewing" of sex photos and other undesireables. In
my case, I prefer to sign up for my information.

Seems everywhere you look these days, marketers are talking about email
response rates. Regionally, the Netpreneur Program <http://netpreneur.org> has
had much marketing success via email.
Concerning response and responsible emailing; do you think its
appropriate to have an "opt in" policy regarding email? In other words,
people have to tell you they want email before its sent.
A well known service: <http://postmasterdirect.com> currently uses
a 100% opt-in policy.
BTW, the Netpreneur Program has been successful in identifying friends of the
program that post to various regional lists, helping response rates.
