"I actually
found one of my larger clients through
a posting on ActionNet. There is also another opportunity still baking
that was sourced
through ActionNet."
Alex Sharpe, Sharpe Consulting
LLC
>> Emphasis
on the strategic.
ActionNet
is all about the connections that can make a material
difference in the success of your business. It's for
serious, high-level opportunities, only, not a barter
board or classified ad system. For example, employment
opportunities are fine, but only for Director level
positions and higher. In fact. most are at the VP and CXO
levels. Our editors review all postings before they are
distributed to make sure that they meet the
"strategic” threshold.
PLEASE
NOTE: ActionNet does
not accept postings for funding opportunities,
since such
postings may violate certain securities laws.
"We
monitor ActionNet because there is always good info and I forward opportunities to people
I know, so it is an excellent networking
tool, too."
Penny Sullivan, GURUNet

entrepreneurs, business people, and strategic partners who
are looking to connect with entrepreneurs like you. Once
you subscribe, browse
through the recent postings in the
ActionNet archives
to get a feel for the types of postings. You can even use the search
feature to find a particular type of opportunity (such as searching for posts
that contain the words "CEO" or "eLearning").

>> Responding
to an
opportunity.
Once you've subscribed to
ActionNet, you'll begin receiving the email bulletins,
usually once per day. Some opportunities will include
contact information, and you can reach these people
directly. Others will be anonymous. To
respond to an anonymous opportunity, send an email
to ACTION-NET-REQUEST@LISTSERV.MORINO.ORG.
Be sure to include the CODE NUMBER you are
referencing in the SUBJECT line of your email. Our team will forward
your response to the
person who posted the opportunity and send you
an email confirming that your response has been
sent.
>> Posting an
opportunity.
To post an
opportunity of your own, simply
submit it to the ActionNet team for review using
our online
form. Normally, posted events will appear in
ActionNet within two business days. You can choose whether to
reveal your identity or remain anonymous. If you post
anonymously, our team will forward any responses directly
to you keeping your identity secret. Opportunities
should be based in the National Capital region. If you are
representing a company, it should be
headquartered or have a branch in this region to be
considered for qualification. (Note, please, that we discourage postings for
those seeking consulting work.)
