in
the loop with larry robertson
staying
on track:
success
in strategy and execution
On Tuesday
and Wednesday, August 13-14, be part of
a special guest appearance in The
Loop with Larry
Robertson, founder of
Lighthouse Consulting.
>>The
Topic: Success In Strategy And
Execution
Successful
companies don't merely have good plans, they execute well on
those plans, in a focused way, and know when the plans have to
change. On August 13-14 it's a new kind of special event in
The Loop, an online working session on staying focused. Our
guest will be Larry Robertson who will answer questions and
share war stories from his many years as an advisor to
startups in areas including managing growth, strategic
planning, partnerships, and more. Larry founded Lighthouse
Consulting in 1992, and, before that, filled roles with the
Walt Disney Company in strategic planning and business
development; Robertson, Stephens & Company in investment
banking and venture capital; and J.P. Morgan in financial
analysis and currency trading. Pull out your real-time
challenges and we'll compare notes on planning and execution
with Larry and other Loop members. The more minds, the better
the solutions.
As
Will Rogers said, even if you're on the right track, you'll
get run over if you just stand there.
>>How
It Works: Continuing The Discussion
We'll
start by introducing Larry with a preliminary
Q&A posting on Tuesday morning, August 13. Following that,
it's open season for your questions,
comments and opinions. Here's just a few rules:
-
Our
focus is focus-- how to keep it so that you plan and
execute more successfully. That leaves a wide range for
topical questions about planning, strategy, targeting, and
implementation. Be as practical and tactical as you like,
and everyone is encouraged to share their experiences,
challenges, and ideas.
-
Questions and comments on related entrepreneurial topics are fine as
well, although moderator Ben Martin may refocus the discussion
if we stray too far. Absolutely no pitches or personal
promotions, however, OK?
-
Feel free to ask anything from broad, philosophical questions
to specific, tactical
ones, however ask them openly in the group. No private
questions, please.
Larry
will monitor postings to The Loop and write responses
during the two days as his schedule permits. (Nope, we
couldn't get him to drop everything and wait by the keyboard.)
All replies will be posted back to The Loop for continued
discussion by members.
Most important, keep in mind that events in The Loop are
discussions, not just Q&As. Jump in with
your own follow-ups, opinions, comments and advice in response
to Larry's comments (or anyone else's). Just be courteous and act in accordance with
The
Loop guidelines.
Remember! Do not interpret any feedback you receive
from Larry or any other member of the The Loop as legal
advice. Always seek counsel from an experienced attorney on
all matters that may require a legal opinion.
Start
prepping. This will be a great opportunity to
compare notes and solicit ideas from colleagues on how to meet
the real world challenges you're facing today.
If you're not already a member of The Loop, subscribe
now.
