|||||||||||||||||||| 1. News About The Program ||||||||||||||||||

Since the beginning of the year,  ActionNet subscribers have seen
opportunities such as a Web software company seeking alliances in
the association and non-profit market, a serial entrepreneur in
search of a partner to tackle Internet services in niche markets,
and over 40 executive openings at local tech companies, including 13
at the CXO level. ActionNet is Netpreneur's email bulletin board
where subscribers can post strategic opportunities (emphasis on the
word "strategic") like these, as well as sales and distribution
relationships, technology licensing opportunities, executives
seeking positions, joint ventures, M&A opportunities, and more. As a
subscriber, you'll receive ActionNet bulletins as they are posted by
members, and you can review past postings in the ActionNet Archives.
All subscribers can post opportunities, which are first reviewed by
our editors to be sure that they meet the "strategic" threshold.
Visit the ActionNet page and Archives to learn more and subscribe.

(Fairfax, VA) Denwa Communications and Microsoft have a new
partnership to enable users of Microsoft.Net to place Voice over the
Internet (VOIP) and PSTN calls through Microsoft's MSN Messenger 4.6
client. MSN 4.6 users can access a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
network to make voice calls over the Internet to any phone in the
world. Previously, users were only able to call other users within
Microsoft.Net. Denwa's service assigns a telephone number to each
MSN Messenger client, which allows any phone to call the computer
that supports that client. The Denwa service provides originating
and terminating telephone service, advanced VoIP services, and full
interoperability with other VoIP systems and circuit-based systems.

(Chantilly, VA) PingTone Communications announced that it will offer
managed Internet Protocol (IP) telephony services in the DC and
Baltimore metropolitan areas, plus the five boroughs of New York
City and northern New Jersey in March. Offered as a managed service
targeted to small and medium-sized businesses, PingTone's solution
includes IP telephones, unified messaging, a desktop GUI for call
control, high-speed Internet access, unlimited local calls, and
unlimited domestic long distance.

(Reston, VA) EyeConcur began offering its new streaming media
employment service called IntroView Career Fairs. Job seekers are
videotaped at EyeConcur's capture centers, and the images are then
digitally encoded for viewing on the Internet by hiring companies.
The IntroViews are approximately five minutes long, showing the
candidate answering a series of unrehearsed questions from their
specific field. The IntroView and resume are held in a searchable
database hosted by EyeConcur. For companies that participate at
certain levels, EyeConcur shoots short promotional videos that
showcase the company and its job opportunities, and give companies
the opportunity to create their own virtual interviewing studio. An
IntroView Career Fair is being held in DC from April 15-30, followed
by Los Angeles; San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Chicago,
Boston, NYC, and Atlanta at later dates.

(Fairfax, VA) Multicast Technologies will initiate what it says is
the first commercial MPEG-4 multicast with a broadcast of the Future
of Music Coalition Policy Summit, to be followed by music and
entertainment programming. MPEG-4 offers an improvement in encoding
efficiency and a close integration between on-air programming and
eCommerce opportunities. The Future of Music Policy Summit took
place in January at Georgetown University. Multicast Technologies
was chosen to videotape the meeting for broadband, which will be
available on its new MPEG-4 video channel beginning March 1.

(Gaithersburg, MD) Rabbit Media, a developer of custom digital media
players for the entertainment industry, announced that it developed
the Rollerball Player for MGM Studios to promote its new movie of
the same name. The Rollerball Player lets users look at video clips,
including trailers, a Rob Zombie music video, and still images of
stars and cars from the film. The player includes images and
branding that support the Rollerball marketing campaign and allows
users to buy film tickets at their local theater with a click. Users
can also send email or IMs about the movie to their friends.

(Hampton, VA). TravElements and Omaha-based TournamentGold are
working together to support travel for amateur athletes.
TravElements will provide its online hotel reservation application
to TournamentGold, a provider of housing and logistic services to
athletic tournaments. TravElements' will integrate its software with
the online team registration system of Maryland-based Time2 to
provide an Internet solution for tournament registration and team
housing. The new offering will give athletic teams and parents
one-stop Internet shopping for tournament information, team
registration, choice of participating hotels, and online room
reservations. Estimates are that some 40,000 US amateur athletic
tournaments generate an estimated 20 million room nights every year.
TravElements says that the system can be adapted to conventions and
other multi-hotel events as well.

(Chantilly, VA) announced an agreement to provide
faith-based and home-school related content and tools in targeted
areas across AOL's services, and that it will be a sponsor of AOL's
Spirituality and Christianity areas.

(Dulles, VA) Arc Second announced a new line of CAD viewers that
will replace its PocketCAD Viewer 3.0. PocketCAD Viewer 4.0 allows
users to view and redline a drawing; and the new entry-level DWFview
is for users who just want to view drawings onsite.

(Sterling, VA) Global Trade Technologies introduced Offer Publisher,
an application that enables bond dealers to export their offerings
to users of GTT's Bizbonds, an Internet-based bond inventory and
order management site for retail and institutional broker/dealers.

(New York, NY) Private Equity Performance Index results for Q3 2001
showed a continued downward trend for the third consecutive quarter,
according to Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital
Association . The trend was attributed to decreasing technology
company valuations, public market volatility, and a weak economy.
One-year returns for venture capital funds fell from -18.2% at the
end of Q2 2001 to -32.4% at the end of Q3 2001. Over longer time
frames (3-year through 20-year), performance was minimally affected
during the third quarter. One-year returns for all private equity,
including venture capital, buyouts and mezzanine funds, showed a
performance of -21.4% ending 9/30/2001. That compares with one-year
