I> News About The Program
Before you snuggle up in your kerchief for your long winter's
nap, sign up for the first Coffee & DoughNets of 2002. "The Board
Game: Selecting the Best Advisors and Directors" will be the
topic on Wednesday, January 23, at 7:00 AM. From experience to
expertise to contacts, a well-assembled Board can be your bridge
to success, and we'll explore practical questions about building
one, from what a Board is to what it does; from how to recruit
members to how to compensate them; and from how to work with your
Board to resolving conflicts. Go from here to to register.
The next C&D will be at the General Cinema at Mazza Gallerie on
Wisconsin Avenue in DC.
We've enhanced the "My Services" features of the Netpreneur
Exchange website, an area where you can update and manage
functions related to your Netpreneur email subscriptions, event
registrations, and site profile. For example, in one step you can
use My Services to put all of your subscriptions on hold before
going on vacation, create multiple subscription addresses, or
review your C&D sign-up information. The first change you'll
notice is a new look with a streamlined organization that's
easier to navigate and makes processing faster. Among new
features, you can now change all of your email subscription
addresses at once (for example, if you change jobs or ISPs) and
you can now change your list archive passwords (for ActionNet,
AdMarketing, and TT subscribers.) There's more as well, so spend
a few minutes exploring My Services. You have to be a registered
user of the site to access My Services, but registering is fast
and free.

II> Regional Netpreneurs
(Reston, VA) EyeConcur introduced IntroView, a service for the
employment and recruiting markets. Each IntroView is a video of
five to seven minutes in length that shows a job seeker answering
a series of targeted questions from their career field. Job
seekers are videotaped at EyeConcur centers using digital
cameras, and the video content is then edited and digitally
encoded for delivery to potential employers over the Internet.
Candidates can attach or imbed a link to their IntroView in their
online resume, job board profile, or online applications when
applying directly to companies.
(Culpepper, VA) World Wide Video (WWV) has a deal to integrate
its products with those of Performance Concepts Inc. (PCI) to
target the video surveillance market. PCI's device, originally
designed for notebook computers, provides miniaturization and
ruggedness that replaces mechanical pushbuttons with touchscreens
for use in environments that have no space for a keyboard, keypad
or pointing device. When icons on the screen are touched, an
analog signal carrying position data is converted to commands.
These commands are then relayed to WWV's Digital Video Bank (DVB)
system for video stream playback. Selectable video screen
projections from the DVB provide button patterns for alphanumeric
data entry, control of DVB functions and low-light zoom cameras. ;
